Amsterdam and Paris Fiasco

Last weekend, we spent 3 days in Amsterdam, and it was incredible. From the beautiful canal rides to walking through Dam Square with its ancient architecture, the city was a blast to explore. Plus, the food was great. Don’t get me wrong, I love Italian cuisine, but a break from pasta was much needed. My favorite thing to eat in Amsterdam was this delicious dessert, containing a fresh waffle on the bottom with a scoop of ice cream and melted nutella on top. It was heavenly, and I wish I could have eaten it more! After 3 full days staying in this strange new city, we were all exhausted and ready to go home. On Sunday night we headed to the airport to catch our flight at 9 PM, and that is when we ran into some trouble.

As soon as we arrived, we found out our flight had been canceled. Easyjet had simply canceled our flight, and the only option they were giving us was to book a hotel for the night and they said they would try and put us on a plane the next night, Monday night, and hope we would make it back then. We decided that this was not a good option, especially since we had class the next day, so we sprinted to the train station and booked an impromptu first class ticket to Paris. On the train, we booked a hotel for the night in Paris and also found a flight at 3 PM back to Venice for only $40, so we booked that too. Once we got to Paris, we quickly headed to our hotel and went straight to bed. We were that exhausted.

The next morning, we woke up early and decided we should see the Eiffel Tower before we had to head to the airport. We walked over 2 miles in the pouring rain, but we got to see it! It was such a cool experience, and will make for a great interview story one day!

That’s all for today, I can’t wait to talk about my trip to Rome in a few days!
